FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does it cost to adopt from MACC?
The adoption fee is $90 for dogs and $60 for cats. This fee includes spay/neuter surgery, major shots a city license and even some free obedience training for dogs!

I saw a picture of one of your animals on www.petfinder.com. How do I adopt him?
Come down to the shelter during regular hours (10:00am - 4:00pm, Tuesday - Saturday). You can meet the animals in person and submit an application if you are interested. Please understand that the animal you saw on the site may have been adopted as we update the site weekly.

Will my new dog get along with my current dog?
Feel free to bring your dog to the shelter and introduce him/her to the one you would like to adopt.

Is the dog I like housebroken/good with cats/ trained, etc?
We don’t know the history of the dogs here. Some are housebroken, some aren’t, some love cats, some don’t, some have been extensively trained and some have been ignored until now. A new pet requires work and patience no matter what and we highly recommend obedience training for all dogs to help ease the transition.
